Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) today said it has appointed Man Jit Singh as President of its home entertainment division.
He will report to Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton and Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal, SPE said in a statement.
Singh was earlier serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Multi Screen Media (MSM), the operating company for Sony Pictures Television's TV networks in India.
He will continue as Non-Executive Chairman at MSM while transitioning from his new role at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
At SPHE, Singh will continue the studio's focus on reducing overhead costs, while growing high-margin businesses. It is responsible for the distribution of the Sony Pictures library for home entertainment, mainly releases from Columbia Pictures and TriStar Pictures.
Singh will be replaced by NP Singh, who was formerly the Chief Operating Officer at MSM. He will continue to focus on developing original, local-language programming and expanding the audience for MSM's eight channels across India.
These channels include SET, SAB, PIX, AXN, MIX, SIX, LIV and MAX.
He will report to Sony Pictures Television President (Worldwide Networks) Andy Kaplan.
