"One Akhlaq and two of his accomplices have been arrested on charges of unlawful detention of a minor," Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahesh Singh Atri told PTI.
Akhlaq had registered a complaint yesterday that his son Muskan has gone missing and the abductors were making phone calls to his brothers and father Chunna Khan, demanding Rs three lakhs for the child's safe release, the officer said.
During investigations it was found that Akhlaq wanted to extract money from his father, who had earlier refused to help him financially, and kidnapped his son, he said.
