The unfortunate incident occurred in Dimraula village last night and victim's partially eaten body was recovered this morning from a sugarcane field, DFO South Kheri Neeraj Kumar said.
Meanhile, the death sparked a severe resentment among the locals who had been reporting movement of a tiger for the past several days to the authorities.
Incensed over the killing , scores of villagers gheraoed the forest authorities, demanding compensation and safety from wild animals.
The tiger attack in Bhira has put the Forest and the Dudhwa authorities on high alert.

He said that cane growers in the area have been issued certian instructions for harvesting their crop. Also, they had been advised to work in groups chatting loudly as the wild animals refrained away from groups, he added.
Elsewhere in the district, wild elephants killed a man in Chauburji village under Belrayan range of North Kheri division last night.
Both incidents took place when the deceased had gone to attend nature's call near the jungles.
