Man killed, wife injured in road accident in west Delhi

A 40-year-old man was killed and his wife critically injured when their motorcycle came under the wheels of a truck in west Delhi's Nangloi area, police said today.
The truck driver, identified as Kailash Swamy (39), was caught by public and later handed over to police.
According to police, the incident took place around 10:30 AM yesterday when Kishan Lal, who worked at a plastic factory, was riding his motorcycle. His wife Anita (37) was riding pillion.
"The motorcycle was moving on the left side of the truck. Somehow, Lal lost control of his bike and they came under the rear wheels of the truck while it was taking a left turn," a police officer said.

The couple was rushed to the nearby Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where Lal was declared brought dead. His wife's condition is stated to be critical.
A mob, which had gathered on the spot following the accident pulled out the truck driver of the vehicle and beaten up as he allegedly tried to escape.
Police soon reached the spot and arrested him. A case has been registered under relevant sections, police said.
