The incident came to light here this morning at around 8:30 am when their relatives who lived in a nearby rented house found the bodies and informed police.
Ravinder Kumar's body was found hanging from a ventilator in the second floor while his wife Chanda (30) and two daughters, Nandini (9) and Yashika (7) were found in a pool of blood on the ground floor. There was an iron pipe lying nearby with blood all over it.
However, as there was some construction going on in the building, the entire family had shifted to a rented house nearby.
"Last night, Ravinder Kumar's family, after having dinner came back to sleep in the under construction house while all others stayed back. In the morning, when nobody opened the door, his brother Kishor entered the house from the terrace of a neighbouring building and found the four bodies," said a police official.
The bodies have been shifted to Deen Dayal Hospital for post mortem. Investigators have questioned the family, relatives, friends and neighbours of the deceased to ascertain the exact reason behind the whole incident.
"Prima facie it seems that marital discord could be the reason behind the incident. Exact cause could be pin pointed after the post mortem report and detailed investigation," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West) Suman Goyal.
