A man allegedly killed his 30-year-old wife and later packed and sealed her body in a plastic bag and dumped it on the roadside here, police said today.
Locals alerted police after noticing blood stains on the bag which was sealed using adhesive tape.
Police said the deceased was identified as the wife of Hyder.
Dabeerpura Police Station Inspector D Venkanna Naik said Hyder, who is employed in Dubai, came to the city a week ago.
He visited his wife who was staying at her mother's house and both left two days ago.
When both did not return till yesterday, her mother informed police, the inspector said.
With the help of family members, the woman's body was identified and they accused Hyder of killing his wife, police said.

The woman's mother complained that Hyder was a drunkard and used to harass her daughter, they said.
Police said they were married ten years ago and have three children.
A case of murder has been registered and a search is on for the man, who is absconding, the inspector said.
