According to the 13-year-old girl's statement, the accused Sonu had been stalking her for quite some time and he used to ask her to come to his rented accommodation.
"On Saturday, when the girl was alone at her house, the accused barged in and raped her after threatening her of dire consequences. On Monday, he again returned when she was alone and raped her," a police official said.
Scared for her life, the girl initially did not disclose the incident to her parents but as Sonu's advances continued, she narrated her ordeal to her family on Wednesday, the official said.
The girl was sent for a medical examination and after its report confirmed rape, a case was registered under relevant provisions of the IPC and a manhunt has been launched to nab Sonu who is still at large, police said.
