Man's body found from drain in UP; locals stage protest

The body of a 35-year-old man, missing for over two weeks, was today found from a drain here triggering protest by locals who indulged in heavy brick batting resulting in traffic jam for over three hours.
Shailendra Singh, resident of Vineet Vihar colony in Ekdil police station area here, was missing since the past 17 days and the body was found from a drain this morning, ASP Sarvanand Yadav said.
After the recovery of the body, irate locals staged a protest at the Etawah by-pass placing the body on road and misbehaved with the police officials when they tried to take the body for post mortem, he said.
The mob indulged in heavy brick batting damaging several private vehicles leading to traffic jam for over three hours, he said.
The body was however sent for post mortem examination after the intervention of senior district officers, he said.
