The deceased has been identified as N Subramanian of Oddanchatram, doing scrap business in Pudupakkam in Chennai, police said.
According to the information, Subramanian, with family, had visited his relatives in Vellore yesterday and sent back wife and children by a car to Chennai, as he planned to visit Coimbatore.
He had also informed his sister in Mettupalayam to visit her in the evening, police said.
