A man was shot dead by two miscreants in Bihar's Muzaffarpur town Monday, police said.
Kaji Mohammadpur police station SHO A K Mandal said that the deceased has been identified as Nasim alias Billa (aged around 35), a resident of the Sadpura area of the town.
According to the SHO two persons picked up a fight with Billa after which the duo shot at him, killing him on the spot.
The miscreants pumped six bullets into the deceased's body, the SHO said, adding that old an enmity could be the reason behind the murder.
Police have started investigation, he said adding that the culprits have been identified and raids are being conducted to nab them.
Local people protesting against the incident blocked the road. Police resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd, a police officer said.
Senior police officials along with police personnel of other police stations are camping at the site, sources said.
