As per preliminary investigation, the police said that Nageswara Rao, a farmer had a dispute with his brother's son K Eswara Rao (27), who is also a farmer, over a piece of farm land and that the killing was sequel to that dispute.
Nageswara Rao was ploughing the disputed land at the village when Eswara Rao pumped a bullet into him at close range.
After the G Madugula police team led by inspector K Srinivasa Rao rushed to the spot, the body was sent to the government hospital for post mortem.
The accused has been taken into police custody and the illegal firearm has been seized, the police said.
