According to SHO Nazir Ali, Reema Khatoon was shot dead by her husband Akram who was arrested by the police soon after the incident.
Yameen Pradhan, the father of the deceased and a native of Baghpat district, alleged in his police complaint that his daughter married Akram four years ago and ever since, she was being continuously harassed for more dowry.
An FIR has been registered under section 304B (dowry death) of the IPC, said the SHO.
