Ved Prakash, who had given information about liquor smuggling to the administration on several occasions, was killed last night, they said.
Police suspect that liquor smugglers might be behind the murder.
Prakash had told the administration that Veer Pal, Kalu, Pammi and Bhura used to smuggle Haryana-made liquor to the village and sell it here, police said.
After his complaint, the accused liquor smugglers had threatened him and asked him to withdraw the complaint, police said.
Prakash refused to withdraw the complaint, which might have led to the assault on him, they said.
The victim's brother has lodged murder case against the four accused, they said, adding, all of them are absconding.
