Man strangulates wife, arrested

A man was arrested today on charges of killing his wife at their residence in Prathamakhandi village under Kuakhia police station limits of Odisha's Jajpur district, the police said.
The accused has been identified as Naveen Behera (50). Police said Naveen allegedly killed his wife Khulana Behera (44) by strangulating her on Friday night.
"There were differences between the couple over domestic affairs for the past couple of days. On Friday night, Khulana picked up a quarrel with her husband and in a fit of rage, the accused husband killed her by strangulating her," said Madhusmita Mohanty, inspector-in-charge of Kuakhia police station.

The accused had fled after committing the crime.
"We have arrested the accused and he confessed to his crime," she said adding, the accused was forwarded to the court which remanded him to judicial custody after rejecting his bail plea.
