Police and fire personnel went into a tizzy today after a youth threatened to jump off a scaffolding of a Hotel under construction on the busy Mount Road here, upset over non-payment of salary by his employer for few months.
The youth was found hanging from a steel bar, which was part of the metal scaffolding of the yet-to-be completed four-star hotel at Teynampet around 1 pm, police and fire department personnel said.
He agreed to get down only after he was shown a cheque for his salary from his employee.
The man in his late 20s, clad in a shirt and lungi, was later given the cheque and taken to the police station for questioning, sources added.
