Baddan, alias Mannan, a resident of Faridabad, Haryana, was arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi police on Saturday after a tip-off that he was hiding in West Bengal.
"It was learnt through reliable sources that Baddan is hiding in West Bengal. Immediately, a team was sent to West Bengal, which zeroed down on the fugitive in Haroa of 24 North Pargana district from where he was apprehended on Saturday.
"He was living there in a rented house along with his wife and family to evade arrest," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
Naresh, posted at Bharat Nagar police station was on night motorcycle patrolling duty along with constable Shankar. The duo received information on wireless that a vehicle, which has stolen cattle in it, is on the run and police vans were chasing it.

"Both of them on their motorcycle overtook the speeding Tata 407 and tried to stop the vehicle. But instead of stopping, the occupants of the vehicle intentionally crushed the police motorcycle and fled from the spot leaving behind the bleeding Naresh who died on the spot," said Yadav.
In November 2012, the Crime Branch arrested Shakir (27) and other persons involved in this case were also arrested by local police later but Baddan had been evading arrest. A reward of Rs ten thousand was also declared on his arrest, police said.
