Rahul, declared as a proclaimed offender in Delhi and Haryana after he stopped appearing before the courts in the cases in which he is an accused, was apprehended from near the Karnal bypass flyover where he had arrived to meet someone.
A special team, set up to trace members of the gangs operating in the north-west district as well as curb the increasing crime rate there, had received information on October 31 that Rahul would come to meet someone near the Karnal bypass flyover.
However, he was apprehended and on questioning kept changing his name, police said.
The police, thereafter, identified him to be Rahul, who was allegedly a sharp shooter in two notorious gangs of the area.
