Man who threatened Bihar BJP chief arrested

A man who had allegedly threatened to kill Bihar BJP President Mangal Pandey, was arrested today, police said.
Union Minister of Transport and Rural Development Nitin Gadkari, senior Bihar BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi and other politicians were also on his target. To top it, he had thrown a challenge to Patna SSP Manu Maharaj to stop him.
"The man, identified as Pankaj Pandey, had threatened Bihar BJP president Mangal Pandey on August 20 that he will kill him within 72 hours. On getting information, we had immediately lodged an FIR and constituted a special team to nab him," said Maharaj.
The Patna SSP said technical surveillance specialists were roped in to track the miscreant, who was using as many as 80 mobile phones and numbers in his nefarious activities.
"He also tried to threaten Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and former Bihar deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, but they didn't take his call," the SSP said.
The special team finally managed to trace and locate him in Delhi and arrested him from Bhalaswa Dairy police station area there, Maharaj said, adding, upon interrogation, his involvement in a number of loot and extortion incidents in Delhi was also revealed and he also used to threaten big businessmen and builders.
"The accused is a native of Kurji Mohammadpur under Phulwari Sharif police station in Patna. He had left his village and shifted to Delhi after his uncle was murdered. He wanted to kill somebody famous and gain notoriety as a don," said Maharaj.
The arrested person was being interrogated by the special team sleuths for more information, the SSP added.
