Man, woman held for trying to con aspiring cops

A man and a woman were arrested here today for allegedly promising to help aspiring cops clear the test for direct recruitment into the police force as sub-inspectors in return for a bribe of Rs 4 lakh.
Kamal Pandey and Kusum Dhasmana were arrested from Dalanwala area of the city when they were taking Rs 10,000 as advance from the complainant Chandramohan Gangola, a release from the state police headquarters here said.
In his complaint to the police, Gangola had said that the duo was offering to help candidates qualify in the direct recruitment test for SIs in the police force in exchange for Rs 4 lakh.
On the basis of Gangola's complaint, a police team led by SP Mamta Vohra laid a trap and arrested them while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 as advance from the complainant, the release said.
