Mohammad Yousuf Jeendhar, a resident of Churanda, was cutting grass when he accidentally stepped on a landmine in Uri sector, 140-km from here, yesterday.
Jeendhar, whose right foot was blown off, was admitted to a hospital in serious condition, police said.
The landmine was planted by army in no man's land as part of counter-infiltration measures to scuttle any attempt by militants to sneak into the Valley from across the border, they said.
