Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar general of the diocese, told reporters here they have urged External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, Petroleum Minister Veerappa Moily and former minister Oscar Fernandez to pressurise authorities in London to investigate the case thoroughly.

"London police have not allowed Jacintha's husband to make a telephone call and her mortal remains were not shown to him or the children. Government of India must look into this matter seriously," he said.

Saldhana (46) who was duped into transferring a hoax call that gave away information on the pregnant Kate Middleton's medical condition to Australian radio presenters, was on December 7 found dead in a suspected suicide.

Her unconscious body was found some distance away from King Edward VII Hospital, where she was working.

Saldanha, a mother of two teenage children, arrived in the UK a decade ago from Udipi near Mangalore.
