Manika Batra enter senis of Polish Open TT

Promising Indian paddler Manika Batra defeated higher-ranked Yui Hamamoto of Japan 4-2 to enter the semifinals of the girls' singles event at the IITF Polish Junior Open in Wladyslawowo, Poland today.
Batra, who won a bronze at the Commonwealth Championships here earlier this month, stunned the third seeded Japanese 9-11 11-9 11-7 10-12 11-3 12-10 in the quarterfinals.
The 18-year-old Indian will now meet another Japanese Ayane Morita in the last four round to be held later today.
Batra had earlier defeated Germany's Theresa Kraft 13-11 11-3 11-9 10-12 11-7 in the round of 16.
