In yet another violent attack on people from Northeast region, a 19-year-old Manipuri youth was seriously injured by a group of five miscreants after he resisted their robbery bid in Mukherjee Nagar area.
Ten suspects have been detained for questioning by the police for the last night's attack, however, no arrest has been made so far.
The victim, Chan Pamai, has sustained head injuries in the incident but is said to be out of danger.
"The incident took place at around 10:30 last night when Pamai was on his way home after meeting his friends in Gandhi Vihar area. As he reached the road from Nirankari School toward Mukherjee Nagar, the goons surrounded him and tried to rob him.
"As he resisted the move, they hit him with some blunt object on his head," said a police official.
Meanwhile, a motorcycle-borne youth passed from the spot and seeing him the assailants fled, he said.

Pamai then asked the biker-- Puneet-- for help who took him to his friend's place. But finding no one there, Puneet made a PCR call after which the victim was taken to Bara Hindu Rao hospital.
"He was in a state of shock and bleeding profusely from his head injuries when brought to the hospital," said a hospital staff.
Pamai was residing in Kotla Mubarakpur area and is a student of NIIT in the area.
There had been a series of incidents in the past several months in the national capital in which people from the Northeast were targeted. The most horrific being the one on 19-year-old Nido Tania, who was allegedly thrashed by some shopkeepers in Lajpat Nagar area on January 30. He died later sparking off widespread protests.
