Manish Tewari launches Bharat Nirman web portal

Aiming at reaching out to all sections of people, the government today launched web portal of Bharat Nirman campaign.
The advertising blitzkrieg, launched by Information & Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari, has been launched to highlight the government's major achievements in the run-up to the 2014 general elections.
Tewari said the portal will ensure that his ministry has an "institutionalised presence".
As part of the Bharat Nirman campaign, 32,612 audio-visual spots have been telecast in phase-I and over 36,000 in phase-II so far. Over 7.50 lakh subscribers have been reached vis Twiter and Facebook. In the print space also, over 27,000 insertions have been done in over 700 papers in phase I and II. Community radio has also been included under the campaign, he said.
Secretary in the Ministry, Bimal Julka, said they have created four new audio-video spots on government schemes like RTI, MNREGA, Aadhar and Food security which will be showed to cinema audience in tier II cities.
He said response for the campaign has been positive.
"According to a survey conducted by Indian Institute of Mass Communication in about seven to eight states, 65 to 66 per cent of the people who have come across Bharat Nirman campaign have responded favourably to it," he claimed.
