He presented the pilgrims with roses and wished them happy and safe journey.
The Air India flight scheduled to carry the pilgrims was supposed to take off at 10.50 AM but got delayed by three hours as it returned late from Jeddah. It finally left for Madina at 1.50 PM.
"We pray to God that he accepts your Haj pilgrimage and fulfills your aims and wishes. Prayers done with pure hearts are definitely granted. Remember the people of Bihar and the country in your prayers and seek blessings for all of us," said Manjhi while addressing the pilgrims.
Talking to reporters Manjhi said the Gaya Airport would be expanded to accommodate bigger aircrafts and handle more passengers.
Several ministers and members of religious institutions were present at the airport with the Chief Minister.
