JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals today said manufacturing at its plant at Panoli in Gujarat has been affected following an explosion of a reactor that damaged surrounding civil structure and equipment.
The extent of damage and loss is not known at present, JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals said in a filing to BSE.
"... One reactor has exploded/caught fire this morning at company's API manufacturing unit at Panoli, Gujarat in the course of manufacturing process," it added.

"We are presently assessing the extent of loss/damage and steps to be taken to restore the normalcy. Our immediate assessment reveals that the manufacturing activity at the said unit will be affected due to the incident," it added.
However, exact impact will be known after the assessment is over, JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals said.
Shares of JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals were today trading at Rs 249.80 per scrip in the afternoon trade on BSE, down 1.46 per cent from its previous close.
