Taking a jibe at BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's remarks on cattle slaughter in the name of 'pink revolution', Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today alleged that most of BJP's leaders were non-vegetarian.
"I myself is a pure vegetarian. But, I know majority of BJP leaders are non-vegetarians and prefer to kill animals to satisfy their belly," Kumar said in his reaction to Modi's 'pink revolution' remarks.
Kumar said that the BJP leader from Nawada seat Giriraj Singh, is himself a meat lover.
"He was Animal Husbandry minister in my NDA government and I know his love for meat," he said.
During his tenure Singh has encouraged animal husbandry to boost meat supply for non-vegetarians in the state, he said.
Modi had made a caustic comment on the UPA and Bihar governments promoting animal slaughter by 'pink revolution' during a rally at Nawada last Wednesday.
The Gujarat Chief Minister had said so in a bid to woo backward yadav caste, engaged in animal rearing, to BJP.
