Many houses damaged in storm in Jalpaiguri district

A number of houses were damaged and large number of trees were uprooted as storm accompanied by hailstorm hit Dooars area of Jalpaiguri district today, official sources said.
Many houses and large number of trees were uprooted in the storm which hit Banarhat, Kathalguri, Dhupguri and other areas of Dooars, the sources said.
Many tea gardens in the area also suffered damages in the storm and hail storm, they said.
Many roads in the district were closed as trees uprotoed by the storm had blocked the roads, the sources added.
