Maoist arrested, 11 militia members surrender in Vizag

The district police today said they had arrested Pangi Bhaskara Rao, a member of the Galikonda dalam of the Naxals who was involved in several acts of violence in the district.
District superintendent of police (rural) Koya Pravin said that Rao was involved in six murders, among other offences.
This apart, 11 members of Maoist militia surrendered before the police, he said.
Korra Santhi, one of the active members from Kalimela dalam, surrendered as she was not getting proper medical treatment while with the Maoists, he said.
Others who surrendered were identified as G Satish, V Chitti Babu, T Arjun, P Sambasiva, G Sundar Rao, G Bheema Raju, G Bhaskara Rao, P Balakrishna, T Chinna Rao, G Subbarao.

The DSP said no case would be registered against those who surrender and their names would be recommended to the government for financial support.
