Gorakh Chand, Nepali Congress' Rukum district working committee member, told media that UCPN (Maoist) cadres captured the party's poll materials at Chhiwang Village in the district.
He said a group of Maoists led by local leaders Dhanbir Oli and Ganesh Chintan seized 200 pieces of T-shirts, 11 sets of loudspeakers and 100 pieces of flyers which were being transported to Simli, Purtimkanda, Garayala and Ghetma villages.
Sharun Bantha, district coordinator of the UCPN (Maoist), however claimed he has already ordered his cadres to return the captured materials.
The Maoists had emerged as the largest party during the first Constituent Assembly elections held in April, 2008.
