Maoist sympathisers on Wednesday allegedly vandalised a 'home-stay' near here by hurling stones, damaging property inside the premises and pasted a poster warning resort owners to shut their establishments, police said.
The poster on the premises alleges sexual exploitation by some resort owners after luring tribal women into the area under the pretext of gifting rice and other essential materials, the police said.
The establishment was not a fully functional one and dismissed all the allegations made in the poster, they said.
"The issue is in the preliminary stage of investigation. We suspect it to be a minor attack by the Maoists in a resort which was not in use. I think they were sure that the place was not occupied, not even security personnel were there when the attack happened," a senior police official of the district told PTI.
Combing operations in the nearby area have begun and charges of trespass, mischief and relevant Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act would be pressed, the official said.
"I don't think the allegations in the poster are true. All the tribal families in the locality are receiving free ration from the government," the official said.

The police is regularly organising house-visits in the hamlets, the health workers are interacting regularly, the child-line workers are active. This can also be a plot to extort money from the resort owners in the name of the tribal community, the official said.
He also said that till now, there was not a single complaint of sexual harassment from any of the hamlets in the locality.
The poster has said this attack was a warning to the resort owners.
