Maoists blew up a culvert in Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana today even as a bandh called by them against killings of their cadres in 'encounters' in neighbouring Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra evoked no impact, police said.
The police said they suspect that Maoists blew up the culvert on Bhadrachalam-Charla road in the early hours and said the nature of explosive used was under investigation.
"There is no impact of bandh in the state. Except the incident (blasting of culvert), no other untoward incident has been reported," Warangal Zone Inspector General of Police Y Nagireddy told PTI.
Additional forces had been deployed at all sensitive locations in view of the bandh call given by the maoists, the official added.
