Maoists blasted the house of one of their former members, a result of an ongoing rivalry among two different factions of left wing extremists, police said today.
Around 30 to 35 members of CPI (Maoist) came to Nawada village, located close to the border with Jharkhand, last night and exploded the house of one Bhola Yadav, their former colleague who had recently joined the Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), a breakaway faction of CPI (Maoist), SP Rakesh Kumarsa said.
Initially the rebels were searching for Yadav, but when they did not find him at his house, the Maoists asked his family members to come out of the pucca house and rigged it with explosives before blasting it, Sherghati Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ajay Kumar Singh said.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
TPC was formed in 2002 and has its stronghold in a few districts like Palamu, Latehar, and Chatra of Jharkhand. It has presence in Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui and Lakhisarai districts of Bihar.
There have been several bloody clashes between TPC rebels and CPI (Maoist) in the recent past.
TPC killed 10 members of CPI (Maoist) in Chatra district of Jharkhand in March 2013, while CPI (Maoist) retaliated by killing 14 TPC members in Palamu district in August 2014, police said.
