About 50 ultras used dynamite to blow up the Block Development Office at Hariharganj in Palamu district in the wee hours, Assistant Superintendent of Police P Murugan said.
Another group of Maoists also blasted Chenpur Block Development Office at about the same time in Gumla, he said.
There was no casualty as no one was present in both the buildings.
The ultras fired at the Chenpur police station in Gumla district in the wee hours. A strong retaliatory action by the police forced them to flee the spot, they said.
Some trains were held up for a few hours at various places for the reason, he said.
Maoists have called the bandh after observing a 'Protest Week' following the killing of some of their top leaders at Chatra on March 28 by their rival, the Trititya Prastuti Committee.
