Both Sambalpur and Hirakud recorded a maximum temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius, while it was 40.2 degrees Celsius in both Bhawanipatna and Phulbani, 40.1 degrees Celsius in Talcher and 40 degrees Celsius in Keonjhargarh.
Sunstroke has claimed at least three lives in the state this summer so far with casualties reported from Bargarh, Angul and Balangir districts, the Special Relief Commissioner's office had said.
