Marginal drop in mercury in parts of Punjab, Haryana

The maximum temperatures hovered around the normal level at many places of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 39.8 deg C, one notch above normal, but a degree further down since yesterday, the MeT said here.

In Punjab, Amritsar experienced a hot day at 42.4 deg C, Ludhiana 41 deg C and Patiala 41.5 deg C, but the maximum hovered around the normal level.

Ambala in Haryana registered a high of 41.6 deg C while Hisar recorded a maximum of 41.7 deg C and Rohtak recorded a high of 42 deg C.

The MeT has forecast dust storm or thunder showers with light rain at isolated places in the two states during the next two days.
