Minimum temperature drooped to minus 7.6 degrees at Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district while Manali and Kalpa recorded a low of minus 1.0 and minus 0.4 degree, followed by Bhuntar 1.5, Sundernagar 3.4, Palampur 4.5, Solan 5.4, Una 5.6, Dharamsala 7.4, Shimla 7.6 and Nahan 10.1 degrees Celsius.
The weather remained dry in the region and the local MeT department has predicted that dry weather will continue till June 2 while rains and snow are likely from January 4 onwards as another fresh western disturbance as an upper air system would affect the Western Himalayan region from January 3 onwards.
Thousands of tourists who thronged Shimla to ring in the New Year were disappointed as the MeT office ruled out snowfall during the next 24 hours.
