The wife of noted British journalist Sir Mark Tully today described as "bogus" an email circulating in the cyber space in his name on Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
"It is a bogus email that has gone viral on the net. It purports to be by Mark but he did not write it nor does it represent his views," Tully's wife Gillian Wright said in a communication to the media.
She was referring to an email circulating on the internet by the title "Sonia-A Blot on the Nation: By Mark Tully" containing derogatory references to the Congress President.
Wright said the email was now being circulated to such an extent that Tully wants to put the truth out as widely as possible.
Tully, a Britisher born in India, was the Chief of Bureau of BBC in India for over 20 years and resigned from the organisation in 1994. Since then he has been a freelancer and made Delhi his home.
