Married woman allegedly raped in her home, man arrested

A married woman was allegedly raped in her home in Odisha's Jajpur district and a man was arrested today in connection with the crime, police said.
The crime took place on the night of November 25 at Adampur village but was reported to the local police only yesterday.
The accused has been identified as hailing from the same village, inspector in-Charge of Kuakhia police station Asish Kumar Sahoo said.
According to the FIR filed with the police, the man entered the woman's house when she was alone and allegedly raped her after threatening her with dire consequences. He then fled the spot.

The woman's husband was away as he works in a private company in Kolkata, the FIR stated adding that she had narrated the incident to her husband over phone soon after the crime and filed the police complaint yesterday after her husband returned home, police said.
"On the basis of the complaint, we have registered a case under sections of the Indian Penal Code and arrested the accused today. We conducted medical examination of both the accused and the woman," said Sahoo.
