Married woman commits suicide, family members stage protests

A 28-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide here, following which her family members staged demonstrations demanding arrest of her in-laws and had a verbal brawl with a senior police officer who went there to pacify them after they blocked the Jind-Rohtak National Highway.
Rishu allegedly drank some poisonous substance yesterday following which she was admitted to a private hospital here. She died today and her in-laws fled leaving behind her body, police said.
Following this, the angry family members of the deceased took her body and staged demonstrations in front of the police station and the private hospital, they said, adding, a large number of police personnel was deployed to keep the situation under control.

They had a heated argument with DSP Kaptan Singh who had arrived at the scene to pacify the family members and end the blockade.
On the complaint of the deceased's father, a case has been registered against her husband and in-law on the charges of abetment of suicide, police said.
