A woman committed suicide by jumping into a well alongwith her two children at village Pahapal in the district Friday morning, police said.
While her son also drowned, her daughter was rescued.
Police sub-inspector Ravi Wahule of Pandharkawda police station said that Meena (29), the woman, had married Sandeep Chatade in 2012 and the couple had two children.
As per the complaint filed by Meena's father, her in-laws were harassing her for dowry which led to her suicide.
The owner of the field where the well is situated saw the woman jumping into the well with the kids and tried to save them, the police officer said.
But he could save only Meena's daughter who is now undergoing treatment in Maregaon rural hospital. Meena and her son Veeraj (4) drowned, he said.
A case under IPC section 498 (A) (in-laws or husband subjecting married woman to cruelty) has been registered against her husband Sandeep and his parents. No arrest has been made so far, the officer said.
