Jyoti's body was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her house in Meeranpur village in Punjab's Phagwara district last night, they said.
The woman was afflicted with some ailment and was upset over it, police said.
Her disturbed state of mind apparently drove her to take the extreme step, they said.
