According to the police, an unidentified person barged in the hut of Sudha Devi (35) when she was alone at home as her husband had gone to attend a marriage function.
The accused raped Sudha and later strangled her to death with her sari last night, police said, adding the incident came to light today.
The body has been sent for post mortem and a probe has been initiated to nab the accused, police said.
