The freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country have not got their due respect and honour in history books taught in schools and colleges, feels Minister of State for HRD Satya Pal Singh.
"After the country's independence, martyrs have not got appropriate honour and respect in history books taught in schools and colleges," Singh tweeted in Hindi.
He further tweeted, " Veeran hain kabren unkin jinke lahu se jalte the chirage vatan, jagmagate hain makbare unke jo bechte the shahidon ke kafan (Lonely are graves of those whose blood used to light lamps in the country, while mausoleum of those are lightened up who use to sell shrouds of martyrs."
