"Following the wage settlement with regular employees, the wages of temporary workers the company have been revised in September 2015. The increase is 10 per cent on an average," a company spokesperson said.
The increase is effective from April 2015 onwards and arrears have been paid to the temporary workmen along with last month's salary, the spokesperson added.
Before the hike, the temporary workers had an average monthly salary of Rs 15,000 to Rs 16,000.
Following the wage agreement with permanent employees, temporary workers at the Manesar plant had protested demanding hike in their wages.
Maruti Suzuki has a total of around 4,000 temporary workers at its plants at Gurgaon and Manesar, including that of Suzuki Powertrain.
