Maruti, Tata adopt sustainable plus label to show performance

Leading companies like ITC, Tata Power, Siemens and Maruti have adopted Sustainable Plus label as a brand identity tool to reflect their sustainable performance to consumers and investors.
Sustainable plus -- an initiative to provide a brand identity tool for companies to communicate to various stakeholders that they are sustainable, responsible and well-governed -- is the innovation of the CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development.
Companies are also using the label in corporate communications, product/merchandise packaging, point-of-sale, business proposals, social media and websites, etc, Seema Arora, Executive Director at Executive Director at CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development, told reporters here today.
Annually, 100 companies across 20 sectors IT, FMCG, and Agriculture are comprehensively analysed for their sustainability performance on Environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) indicators, and corresponding Labels are assigned, she said.
Investors, around the globe can now have access to analysis based on ESG information of 100 largest companies across 20 sectors in India, she added.
