Announcing a partial resumption of production, country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) today said it will start manufacturing vehicles from its Gurgaon plant from tomorrow.
The company, which yesterday announced suspension of production due to fire at the factory of its component supplier Subros in Manesar, will resume manufacturing of vehicles at its Gurgaon facilities from second half of Wednesday.
"Certain operations in the Manesar campus, including casting and manufacture of transmissions, will also resume in the second half on Wednesday," MSI said in a statement.
MSI had to suspend operations at its facilities on Monday, owing to fire at the Manesar facilities of its supplier, Subros Ltd.
Subros Ltd and MSI are jointly working on options to obtain supply of components from other facilities and gradually bring operations back to normal, it added.
Earlier in the day Subros had stated it is working to supply to its customers, including MSI, from its facilities in Noida following the fire at its Manesar unit.

"We have already started the process to resume supplies. We have facilities at Noida and Greater Noida as well as collaboration with Denso. We are looking at all options. Dispatches from other facilities will begin in a day or so," Subros Ltd Chairman Ramesh Suri told PTI.
He further said: "We are also working to bring back the (Manesar) facility back to production as soon as possible. We are trying to bring it back in the same position as earlier in the shortest time possible."
On Sunday, a major fire broke at the Manesar plant of Subros which took more than three hours to douse. There were no reports of casualty.
Yesterday, one of the company's largest customers Maruti Suzuki India had announced that it was suspending production following disruption of supplies from Subros after the fire.
Maruti Suzuki India's two plants at Gurgaon and Manesar remained suspended for the second day.
Subros' Manesar plant supplies over 90 per cent of its production to meet requirements of Maruti Suzuki.
On an average Maruti produces around 5,000 units a day from its two plants at Gurgaon and Manesar, which together have an annually capacity of rolling out 15 lakh units.
Subros, which is the country's largest auto air conditioning manufacturing firm, has an overall capacity to manufacture up to 10 lakh AC systems per annum.
