Marvel Studio head Kevin Feige has said they're "committed" to a standalone Black Widow movie and it's likely that the pic will be part of Phase 4.
Feige also talked about the other potential of "Avengers" characters such as Falcon, War Machine and Hawkeye getting their own spotlight, reported Deadline.
"We've announced the next nine movies, ten counting 'Civil War', through the end of 2019. Where we go beyond that are ongoing discussions that we'll focus on in the next few years because we have a lot to do before then.
"Of the characters that you've just mentioned I would say certainly the one creatively and emotionally that we are most committing to doing is Black Widow," Feige said.
"We think she's an amazing character. We think Scarlett Johansson's portrayal of her is amazing. She's a lead Avenger and has amazing stories in her own right to tell that we think would be fun to turn into a standalone franchise."
The interest of having a "Black Widow" film has gone way back since she appeared in 2010's "Iron Man 2".

Two years later, Johansson said she and Marvel Studios had "spoken a lot" about developing a film that followed the heroine's origin in Russia.
"It's just steeped in history and the richness to shoot in Russia, perhaps... I hope that the fans' voice is loud enough and they want to see a Widow origin story, I know Marvel would be happy to entertain that. We've spoken a lot about it," she said at that time.
Feige has indeed been talking about making the Natasha Romanoff-centric film but no formal announcement has ever been made.
