Traders said scattered enquiries from retailers amid pause in supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in masoor and urad prices.
In the national capital, masoor small and bold rose by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,550-3,750 and Rs 3,600-3,850 per quintal respectively. Its dal local and best quality traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 3,850-4,350 and Rs 3,950-4,450 per quintal.
Urad and its dal chilka also seen in demand and inched up by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,200-5,100 and Rs 4,300-4,400 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya enquired higher by the same margin to Rs 4,400-4,900 and Rs 4,800-5,000 per quintal.
