British group Massive Attack cancelled their concert over the weekend at Madrid's Mad Cool Festival last minute.
In a statement released by the festival via Twitter, the band claimed that the sound of the stage where Scottish band Franz Ferdinand was playing at the time "would bother them during the performance of their show".
The tweet was later deleted.
Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos responded to the matter with a sad face emoji on Twitter.
The organisers of the festival apologised for the inconvenience and said that they tried their best to push back Massive Attack's show to avoid the scheduling conflict, but that the band made the "unilateral decision" to pull their performance altogether.
"From Mad Cool, we sincerely apologize to all attendees for the inconvenience and possible heartbreak this may have caused... The band and the festival are aware of the great disappointment caused by the cancellation of the concert," statement from Mad Cool further read.
